What is happening this year?

Sunday 14th July 

Take part in a treasure hunt or step back in time with a vintage twist. 

  •  Junior & Senior Treasure hunts - Starts and finishes at the Castle 
  • Rhayader & District Vintage show - At the Smithfield (Free Entry)
  • Vintage Rally procession around town. 
  • Car Treasure Hunt - starts at the main Car park.  

Monday 15th July 

Tonight its all about the kids at the beginning and the adults at the end. 

  •  All week there will be an exhibition being held at St Clements put together by local                              organisations from 13.00 - 17.00
  • The 'Grand' Quiz - at Cwmdauddwr Community Centre - drinks can be purchased                                      a at the triangle and brought to the venue.

Tuesday 16th July

The title says it all for this event.

Gwastedyn hill race

  • 18:00 Registration opens - Rhayader leisure centre
  • 19:30  Junior race - from the Smithfield
  • 19:40 Senior race - from the Smithfield


Wednesday 17th July

Time to become a 'World' Champion (well a champion of Rhayader anyway)

  • Welly wanging - at the Smithfield 
  • Junior wheelbarrow race - starts at the Smithfield 
  • Senior Wheelbarrow race - Starts at the Smithfield 
  • Rock, paper, scissors comp - at the lamb 

Thursday 18th July 

All about the fire station, but not until we have had our lunch with the teddies. 

  • 12:00 - Teddy bears picnic - at the cricket/football pitch, Bryntirion. 

Its a Knockout @ The Fire Station.

  •  Registration opens for juniors 
  •  Registration opens for Adults

Friday 19th July

The Groe Gathering 

  •  Live music, food and more at this family friendly event. 


Saturday 20th July 

The BIG day 

  •  Assembly of entrants at Smithfield 
  •  Judging 
  • Grand Procession 
  •  Crowning Ceremony & prize giving at the Groe Cwmdauddwr 
  •  Enjoy all we have on offer at the Groe including paws for thoughts display team                      and the wye valley axe men, many side stalls, donkey rides, face painting and lots more.
